El Riding Rails Jun 17 2006

Ok, so after my last post on the nice looking IDE Project RIDE-ME, I did indeed decide to get involved and contribute. I’ve chatted with the project leader, and I’m really stoked about how the project is shaping up. My first task was to get the Subversion integration up and running, and I’ve decided to tackle a simple add-in architecture to get the job done. In this way, the SVN integration will be an add-in, and add-ins will provide a simple way for the team to add more features quickly and easily, as well as being a really great way for a community to build up around enhancing and extending the IDE.

Anyway, I’ve started work, got me some commit access, and plan to try and get some stuff checked in next few days. I’ve got a busy weekend again this weekend, but we’ll see what I can pull together! I’ll likely be posting more of my progress on working with the RIDE-ME codebase on the project blog.
